Santo Domingo.- With a standing room only crowd as a long line of moviegoers stood waiting outside, the entertainment giant Caribbean Cinemas cut the ribbon for the first three dimensional (3-D) movie theater in Santo Domingo, of a total of four Caribbean Cinemas which will feature 3-D nationwide.
Special guests and customers put on the special glasses the theater provided to see the realistic film “Final Destination” in full 3-D splendor.
The audience’s delight was evident as the vividly realistic special effects drew oohs, aahs and the occasional scream, virtually hurling spectators into the movie’s action-packed scenes.
Caribbean Cinemas president Robert Carrady carries his late father Victor Carrady’s legacy on, and is bullish on the Dominican Republic, partnering with Orange Telecom as a sponsor of this special promotion.
In a speech to the audience Carrady said the technology the future holds for moviegoers or even sports fans vieweing World Series games in 3-D is very near.
Orange president Jean Marc Harion, media personalities, numerous film and show business figures attended the event, hosted by the CEO of Caribbean Cinemas Dominican Republic branch.
