Press Release
Santo Domingo.- AES Dominicana figures in the first 30 spots of the 100 Central American and the Caribbean best workplaces, in the U.S.-based company’s “Great Place to Work” annual ranking in the area’s different countries for 2009.
Recently, Great Place to Work, which conducts that type of research since 1980, delivered to the company’s representative, in San Salvador, the certificate to recognize AES Dominicana as one of the best places to work for its performance in 2008.
The ranking derives from a rigorous process of analysis and evaluation of the opinions of employees, the corporative culture, and good management practices that lead to making a great place to work, taking confidence as base model for the measure.
Great Place to Work starts from the definition of what is a good place to work, such as where employees trust the people they work for, have pride in what they do and enjoy the people they work with.
It’s the first time AES Dominicana is subjected to the process whose results and recommendations contribute to apply the necessary advances for the company to continue implementing better labor practices.
Among the targets of Great Place to Work’s ranking is to make it easy for management to gain knowledge and share experiences between all those organizations who know how to secure better business results and improve the quality of their work places.
In the last few years AES Dominicana has implemented new aspects in human resource management, such as leadership development, a standard compensation and benefits model, programs of recognition, educational aid, for its employees’ children, and a system to train and develop competition, among others.
AES Dominicana’s international recognition comes after the kudos by the local magazine Mercado, which selected it as one of the country’s most admired and among the best companies to work for.
