Santo Domingo.- The Hotel Meliá Las Americas and the Varadero Golf Club will stage the Sol Meliá Cuba Golf Cup from October 22 to 24, and will mark the 10th anniversary of the spectacular 18 hole course.
For this reason the tour agency Solways Viajes announces an offer of packages for the Dominican golfers who wish to participate in this unique and exciting event.
Among the tourney’s modalities are stroke play, with prizes for best women’s and men’s scores, as well as closest to the pin in both sexes, and the use of the Calloway system.
Meliá Las Americas is a 5-Star class, All Inclusive vocational resort, designed only for adults older than 18. It’s also the only hotel with direct access to the Varadero Golf Club, and is currently is currently conducting a project to consolidate it as Cuba’s golf sector leader.
Inaugurated on October 26, 1999, the Varedero Golf Club is a design by Les Furber, president of the Canadian company Golf Design Services Ltd, which harmoniously combines classic styles, challenge (target golf) and the links, and includes the turquoise coastal waters as a panoramic obstacle within the game.
According to Tania Ricardo, of Solways Viajes, the Par 72 course features 18 holes, with 6,269 linear meters (6,856 yards) of fairways between the First Tee and the 18th Green.
