When will DR realize - the DR does not have a clue (maybe a very tiny one) what a 5 star hotel is. Makes me laugh to think that a Barcelo Convention Center with over 1,000 rooms proclaims it will be 5 star. 5 star is not just a very glitzy chandelier in the lobby - it is service service service. DR does not know how yet to provide service service service. That is why Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton quickly left their plans to open in DR. That is why PGA golf has left Cap Cana. They all want to advertise as 5 star but (maybe 3 star?) alas DR is more interested in 1300 hotel rooms and very cheap tourism - you know in and out - . At bar in Punta Cana (and elsewhere in DR you need to make even sure that your bartender puts rum in your drink. Did you know you need to tell them at the bar to put liquor in your cocktail?

Well Jeb!

This is not why the PGA left the DR it is about money and it cost a tremendous amount to host these events.

Wake up man everyone gets the 5star ratings now and at 500 a night it better be more than 5 star

I suggest you compare the prices and you will see its obvious they are not 5 stars but decent 3.5 to 4.5 stars

If you pay for Casa de Campo you get great golf, good food , top shelf booze and new rooms

This would cost you 750 at the Ritz minimum

The DR has improved in many ways and when hotels pay more they will get better staff and you will pay more also.

Its not rocket science and they always put rum in my drinks
