Santo Domingo. - The Puntacana Group announced 5th annual Carnaval of Punta Cana, to take place from March 10 in the Boulevard in Puntacana Village from 4pm, when floats and troupes from Aruba, Curazao, Haiti and Puerto Rico and a selection of Dominican Republic’s best launch the raucous activity.

More than 1,000 Carnaval performers and the 20 best floats from various Dominican cities will participate in the parade, with their exotic costumes and masks, as an expression of the country cultural and folklore traditions, to the delight of the thousands of local and foreign tourists who will visit the country’s East region.

This looks like a move in the right direction.
They should look at Rio de Janeiro for what makes a great Carnival, an look at La Vega on what makes a woeful one.
