Santo Domingo. - The journalistic efforts dedicated to tourism of the sea and its resources will be included in the 9th annual Epifanio Lantigua Awards, organized by the Dominican Tourism Press Association (ADOMPRETUR) and the Occidental Hotels & Resorts chain, with the support of the Tourism Ministry and the Juan Luis Guerra Foundation.
ADOMPRETUR president Osvaldo Soriano announced the Award’s 2012 edition slated for September 19, to recognize the best works to benefit tourism in the press, the web, television, photography and sustainable tourism.
Soriano said the prize has totally matured and developed, with each delivery piquing heightened interest among tourism journalists. “It’s among the national press’ most important and coveted awards, bounding with more and better works every year.”
Present in the activity were Occidental Hotels Marketing director Pablo Diaz, representing Ventura Serra, hotel chain general assistant director for Cuba and Dominican Republic; Juan Luis Guerra Foundation director Esther Vega; Hotels and Tourism Association president Julio Llibre; and ADOMPRETUR past president and founding partner Ellis Perez, among other tourism sector personalities and journalists.
