Bayahibe, Dominican Republic. - The La Romana-Bayahibe Hotels Association (AHRB) presented the results of the pilot program on quality management which has been in effect since 2005, to provide the destination’s companies the tools needed to achieve the standards of quality which the international tourism sector requires.

 The La Romana - Bayahibe Tourism Cluster Quality Management Pilot Program has IDB funding and forms part of the sustainable development strategy of the thriving hotel zone based on good practice in local development, integrating small and medium businesses in the destination, to increase their and the destination’s competitiveness.

 At a meeting with representatives of the organizations taking part, the executives of the companies in the program traded ideas with participants on how the program has impacted to benefit their business’s quality, thanks to the guidance of the group Quara Consulting and Ejido Advisors, which implemented and monitored the pilot project.

 AHRB Executive Director Ana Garcia marked the event which included warding the program’s certificates of participation to the businesses Wild Ranch, Cumayasa Canopy, Operadora Caoba, Bayahibe Runners and El Cafecito del Cubano.

The diplomas were presented by AHRB Vice President Cristiano Bertelli, and La Romana-Bayahibe Tourism Cluster Secretary Iankel Avila.
