Dominican chocolatiers make their mark at Salon du Chocolat

Bridgetown.–In over 20,000 sqm of exhibition space with 500 exhibitors and an expected 120,000 visitors over 5 days in the heart of Paris, Haitian and Dominican cacao andchocolate producers are making their presence felt at the world renownedindustry event Salon Mondial du Chocolat.

BetweenOctober 28 and November 1, 2015, the delegation from Haiti and the DominicanRepublic will present their products and services to the internationalattending audience facilitated by the Caribbean Export Development Agency(Caribbean Export).

The companies include Khao Caribe, chocolate makers from the DominicanRepublic; Askanya Chocolates bean-to-bar chocolates from Haiti, the Federationof Cacao Producers of the North of Haiti (FECCANO), and the joint participationof the Association of Cacao Producers of the North (APROCANO) and the cacaofermenters and exporters Produits des Iles S.A. (PISA) also from Haiti.

Dominican cacao and chocolate producers arealso represented by the Cluster of Cacao of the Dominican Republic, and theHaitian Chamber of Commerce is also accompanying the delegation to providebusiness promotion support.

Attractingindustry professionals including, chocolatiers, pastry makers, confectionerstogether with pastry chefs and cocoa experts from across the world, thedelegation not only get the opportunity to penetrate new markets with theirfine flavour cocao but also build capacity through the numerous workshops andconferences that are contained within the event programme.

Caribbean Exportorganized this mission within the framework of the Haiti/Dominican RepublicBinational Programme, funded by the European Union under the 10th EuropeanDevelopment Fund (EDF).
