New Dutch envoy aims to boost trade, investment

Santo Domingo.- The Dutch Chamber of Commerceof the Dominican Republic on Wednesday presented to the business community othe new Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the country, Mr. Robertde Leeuw

The diplomat pledged to work for a successfulimplementation of the recently signed cooperation agreement between theRepublic Dominican and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Mr. de Leeuw has a distinguished diplomaticcareer working previously at the headquarters in The Hague and in Chicago,United States, Guangzhu, China and Dubai. He was the director of theRestructuring of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.

The president of the Dutch Chamber, TaianaMora said: "With Ambassador de Leeuw we continue a good record of closecooperation between the Chamber and the Embassy for trade, investment andcooperation. This implies not only leveraging the Netherlands as a gateway tothe European market, but also the Dutch Caribbean as near and potential markethas it all: high demand for products, cultural proximity, and daily direct air andmaritime transport."
