CEMEX fests best Dominican construction, architecture works

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic’s leading cement maker CEMEXDominicana on Monday announced Premio Obras CEMEX 2016, an initiative that throughoutits 12 years has recognized the country’s best works of construction andarchitecture.

The CEMEX award, the principal recognition for the country’sconstruction industry, is an initiative that promotes quality, improvement andinnovation in the industry, recognizing the best practices in buildings tocreate better spaces for social coexistence.

"We’re thrilled to recognize, through the CEMEXBuilding Award, the small, medium and large works built with the higheststandards of quality, efficiency and sustainability. In this edition wecelebrate our 20 years of presence in the country and 40 years of our TITAN brandthat confirms that our country counts with a leading construction industry thatcares to fulfill quality standards," said Carlos Emilio González,president of CEMEX in the country.

The gala is slated for Wednesday at Hotel Jaragua’s TeatroLa Fiesta, where various Dominican construction industry professionals will alsobe recognized.

CEMEX’s 12th annual award will evaluate morethan 40 works competing to be the best in their category: Residential Housing,Economic residence and buildings.

Works can also compete for special prizes in the areas ofUniversal Accessibility, Sustainable Construction, Innovation in Constructionand Social Value.
