Dominican Week delegation visits AES Corp. in Virginia

Santo Domingo.- AES Corporation received in its Arlingtonin Virginia headquarters, the delegation of Dominican business leaders whoparticipated in the annual Dominican Week in the United States.

AES Corporation Sustainability vice president ScarlettAlvarez received the delegation, accompanied by AES Dominicana president EdwinDe los Santos, who’s also a board member of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAMDR).

"AES has maintained a strong presence for almost 20years in the Dominican Republic and we’re very pleased to receive a delegationof Dominican business leaders at our headquarters to share with them the use ofinnovative technologies that AES used in its offices, as well as our solutionsfor large-scale energy storage that can integrate unconventional renewableenergy,” Alvarez said.

After the visit, AES CEO Andrés Gluski participated in the panel"Renewable Energy, Natural Gas and Storage," held at Virginia Tech, withan overview of progress, outlook on opportunities, distribution and financingfacilities in the three areas which are part of the global energy trend.

Dominican Week is an activity celebrated by the DominicanRepublic chapter AMCHAMDR during the last 24 years to bolster economic, trade,social, academic and cultural ties between the country and the US.
