Santo Domingo.- Two multinational telecommunications and technology firms from the US and Europe that will be installed during the upcoming month in the Santo Domingo Cyber Park, will produce 2,000 new jobs for Dominicans over the age of 18 years old, that speak English and are computer-savvy.

To hire personnel, the Cyber Park will hold its first Jobs Fair on Thursday and Friday, 23rd and 24th of February, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday 25th from nine a.m. to five p.m.

Nora Reyes and Alfredo Fontaneto, manager and representative for the Cyber Park, respectively, underscored that this jobs fair is to be used as a census, because it will generate a database to identify the number of Dominicans that speak English and are cyber-savvy.

It is also expected to show that local personnel are qualified to compete at a worldwide level.

Call Center firms will offer management and administrative positions.

For Manuel Mejia and anyone else interested check out www.itla.edu.do which is the Instituto Tecnologico de las Americas website, an educational institution located in the cyberpark. Hope this helps.
