Santo Domingo.- Fair trade products are defined as those made by people, sometimes entire villages, who are paid a fair wage for their labor, have good employment opportunities and safe conditions.

As far west as Washington State, the products listed below can be attained.

From farmers in the Dominican Republic and Peru: Equal Exchange, organic, 71 percent cocoa, dark chocolate; $3.90 for 3.5 ounces.  

From Sri Lanka, Just Us! makes organic Ceylon tea with lemon and honey extracts; $4.95 for 1.5 ounces, 25 tea bags.

An African specialty by Eswatini Swazi Kitchen in Swaziland, kumquat marmalade; $4.50 for 12 ounces.

Sindyanna of Galilee, extra-virgin olive oil is marketed by an organization of Arab and Jewish women; $10 for 8.5 ounces.
