Santo Domingo.- The South Korean government is interested in investing in producing aloe -- commonly known as 'aloe vera' --, in the Dominican Republic.
The information was disclosed by Korean ambassador Lin Buyng-taik, who assured that the Dominican aloe is highly competitive and is an item that could boost employment here.
He added that this was part of the proposals that his government presented before president Leonel Fernandez.
Byung-taik stated that currently Korean firm Univera holds aloe plantations in Mexico and Venezuela, but that his country is especially interested in coming to the Dominican Republic, given the excellent quality of local aloe.
