SANTO DOMINGO.- The Dominican Customs Agency (DGA), with the participation of the Santo Domingo State university UASD, trains its personnel in Business and Foreign trade, to adapt it to the new goals of development and education for 2008.

The DGA said it concluded a course on customs procedures taught to its employees and technicians, as part of the program masters in customs and trade negotiations, begun in June, 2006. it said the program is part of the DGA’s agenda to train and develop its human resources.

The course on customs procedures was taught by the Costa Rican specialist and consultant Bernardo Ovares, who said it’s important for Customs to develop an event of that nature.

The masters program’s academic aspect corresponds to the (UASD), whereas the Hacienda Ministry’s Training in Fiscal Policy and Management Center (CAPGEFI) contributes the logistics.

Customs director Miguel Cocco stressed the training program’s importance and said the DGA would provide all the needed resources and efforts to bolster, and professionalize all Customs employees.

i think that a train is not needed in our country i think they should improve education and improve poverty becuase our economy is in need of a good president to make our country more likable for the society and more efficient

what you said has nothing to do with the article, read it again. They are training the people who in the past and some currently, who ask for tips and get bribed for services. They are training the new generation of officers in the insititution so that they wont have to do that anymore, and make them more effiecent at their jobs. A major Plus in the fight against corruption and efficeny in trade regulations and enforcement.
