SANTO DOMINGO. - President Leonel Fernandez said today the company Linea Clave guarantees that within 60 days 40 natural gas stations will be operating for use in vehicles and the equipment to monitor transport with the new system.

Fernandez made the announcement during the inaugural of the First International Energy Week in the Jaragua hotel, with representatives from different international institutions and Government officials taking part.

"I believe that in a relatively short term, we can see the results of this. Today we can see how natural gas works and it’s an exhibition, an example of what will also be the future of buses or the mechanisms of the mass, fast transit system," he said.

The chief executive said Linea Clave will begin to install 40 stations and will continue expanding in the measure the use of natural gas grows, instead of gasoline. He said the Government hasn’t spent any money in those facilities.

Fernandez said to guarantee the supply which is traditionally bought in Trinidad & Tobago, an agreement would be signed with a company in Quatar.

As to International Energy Week, the chief executive, after touring the different stands, said the activity highlights energy’s importance for the country.

did the Great One say how many cars in the country will be able to run on natural gas in 60 days?
he always seems to be in a rush to have these initiatives expedited, to add to his political resume. consequently, things get a little screwed up; see the Metro! i can just see the attendants at these stations waiting around all day for tanks to fill, while we are still figuring out the conversion process! what else is new?

To dreadlocks: He is doing a great job so shut up and feel sorry that for you (Leonel Fernandez will be president again)
I think that you don't like the idea that He went to your country and his life was spare by God, eventhough your people want to kill him for not reason.
So dumb on your side that He is the only president (willing and able) to assist your nation and in return he gets hateful comments, bad energy and comments like yours.

I wonder how much the natural gas system installation will be? It should be free, considering all this extra tax the people have been paying.

to JRRubirosa; firstly, i have never even been to haiti, so there! if you think things here are so great, then throw a party. if you think the metro is such a great idea, you should help subsidise it. arguing with you is a patent waste of time, because i have never seen you cite one statistic, one article, one book nor one source; you simply rant incoherently and try to bash haiti and its people. the fact that i do not speak much on the haiti issue is that i have limited knowledge of the place. we all know haiti is desperately poor and underdeveloped, but beyond that, i cannot comment. therefore i do not! we all know the sun is hot, but very little else about it; its the same with me and haiti. and try to grow up and desist from telling other people to shut up; it smacks of the behavior of 9 year old children on the merry-go-round!

Well, most 54 year old dominicans behave like 9 year old if you know what I mean. I think you should ask him how old is he then you'll understand why his behavior is so childish. Also he could be right here in Villa Mella but saying that he is in the United States.

To Carlos: I'm not in Villa Mella right now because I did my homework by the book, study first then worked really hard in the DR and finally got my legal status to come to the US.
Thank God I never trafficked drugs or try to get to Puerto Rico by boat, I wasn't never dreaming about something unrealistic.
Don't want to say anything negative about people that try to leave the country (everybody has a right to improve).
My childish behavior comes from seeing injustice in some people that want to have 2 standards and be somebody else on these blogs.
Last thing I don't know why people like you when see somebody that lives in the US your assumption right away is: 1st- I don't have a right of opinion because I don't live in DR anymore and 2nd I have something that I don't deserve at this moment.
Thank God all my close friends did the same thing like me always doing good and
last but not least my family is still in DR so I do have strong attachments to the island.
