SANTO DOMINGO. - The 2009 Budget of Income and Public Spending Law will be 329 billion pesos, or 29 billion more than this year’s amount, said Hacienda minister Vicente Bengoa.

He said all Government agencies abd City halls will receive exactly the same disbursements assigned in this year’s Budget. "All the ministries was repeated in the Budget this year, but not only those, as the National Congress, the City councils, the Central Electoral Board and the Accounts Chamber were also repeated."

Bengoa said the Government is aware that amid a recession crisis it would be counter-productive to lower the disbursementw, because that will contribute to deepen the recession. He also affirmed that Government revenue remained practically the same, for which it doesn’t have any way to increase allotment.

The official said no later than Wednesday the Budget will be presented to Congress for its study and approval.

About increasing the funding of education. Education not even get the amount it suppose to get because the government always cut education expending instead of increasing it. 22,000 students are out of school because there are not enough schools.
