Santo Domingo.- Passengers in La Isabela International Airport (AILI) said they are satisfied with the service provided the the Dominican Customs Agency.

A survey ound that Customs' passenger services in the Isabela terminal at Higuero during September and October had a 90 and 91 percent approval rating respectively.

The outcome is derived from cards filled by passengers with their comment during those months, an initiative of the Airport's Administration, to assess their customer services.

Where is La Isabela International Airport? is this the same Airport known as "El Aereopuerto de Herrerra" back in the 1980s...?

It was Herrera, now La Isabela (AILI) in Higuero, but "officially" Joaquin Balaguer...even thugs get recognition in this country...

Herrera is a different airport altogether, La Isabela/Higuero is located a few kilometers further north, just past the Mirador Norte park.

Cacique,

Joaquin Balaguer was a great man and a great patriot...The fact that he is now, and will foever be, burning in the fires of hell is besides the point :-))

this is a dumb ass airport and a make work project....why did they not just close Herrera and spend the money on expansion of Las Americas....at least the Metro has a function or maybe this is where they will keep those stupid Tucanos then it is a double white elephant

GC, Herrera as been closed for YEARS (I know this because my mom lives a few miles from there), this is way before the Metro. La Isabela has been opened for a few years itself. (perhaps you should do some research before posting your negativity?)... and hey look what I found

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Isabela_International_Airport

the first flight to land in the Isabela airport was from your beloved Haiti... and you go hating on it. The airport was a great move because Herrera was antiquated and too small for the increased traffic, it was also a hazard to the growing Santo Domingo City.
