Santo Domingo.- Passengers in La Isabela International Airport (AILI) said they are satisfied with the service provided the the Dominican Customs Agency.
A survey ound that Customs' passenger services in the Isabela terminal at Higuero during September and October had a 90 and 91 percent approval rating respectively.
The outcome is derived from cards filled by passengers with their comment during those months, an initiative of the Airport's Administration, to assess their customer services.

Herrera is a different airport altogether, La Isabela/Higuero is located a few kilometers further north, just past the Mirador Norte park.

this is a dumb ass airport and a make work project....why did they not just close Herrera and spend the money on expansion of Las Americas....at least the Metro has a function or maybe this is where they will keep those stupid Tucanos then it is a double white elephant

GC, Herrera as been closed for YEARS (I know this because my mom lives a few miles from there), this is way before the Metro. La Isabela has been opened for a few years itself. (perhaps you should do some research before posting your negativity?)... and hey look what I found
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Isabela_International_Airportthe first flight to land in the Isabela airport was from your beloved Haiti... and you go hating on it. The airport was a great move because Herrera was antiquated and too small for the increased traffic, it was also a hazard to the growing Santo Domingo City.
