Soon the gallon of premium will cost RD$200. A lot of people will start to leave the car at home or ride with a relative/friend, and voila! then Leonel will tell us "you see, the metro solves the congestion problem!"

The president is doing all he can to keep the oil prise not so higt, but is not on his hand, since the DR is an importer and does not produce its own petroleum so they have to keep up with the market other wise it will be a loss for everyone in the island, and this is happening in the whole world. If people want to safe money what they have to do is make less trip in the car and buy a bicicle or walk when they have to solve a problem close to the house. That way people wont wist so much gas.

Yes, but Lionelie has holdings in tanker ships bringing oil to DR. And the Gov. is not too unhappy to see the price of gasoline rise because they get more revenue.

We pay too much money on gas taxes. I have a car and Metro did not help me, I spent half of my salary on gas only to go and come back from work. I would not buy a bicycle because I am skinny and I can not lose one pound, as thousands of dominicans. We can produce ethanol gas. Subsidies should be stopped, as they usually are not well managed and go to the wrong hands. Dominican governments are not interested on solving the problem, as the have good earnings from gas businesess.

Now, now folks, Lio-nel Fernandez needs those tax revenues to improve education, Oh sorry I was dreaming, I mean to pay for the no show jobs of the PLD faithful!

The added benefit is, since the PLDers do not have to show up for work, fuel is saved, less congestion on the roads, it will appear the METRO is working, the party elite will have more taxpayer provided diesel to travel to their expensive dachas in their taxpayer provided Land Cruisers, like the secretary of mis-education, what a genius our Fuehrer is!

Eh palante que vamos on the publics dime!

He is one thing, Why does the Government have to take 36% of each Gallon for them.
Don’t you think That is too much, why they don’t take 18% or 20%?
All the Dominican Government just think for themselves, I love my
Country, but I hate Government system.

brilliant, Josean. maybe some calculus could be arrived at to contemplate the fuel savings accrued by paying people to stay at home and play dominoes!
