SANTO DOMINGO.- President Leonel Fernandez Thursday headed the groundbreaking for the construction of Ferreteria Americana’s corporative offices and the shopping center Galeria 360, at a cost of more than 70 million dollars.

The chief executive accompanied Americana president Fernando Garcia, among other executives of the company.

According to reports, the world-wide Ikea will be one of the mall’s stores, located on Kennedy avenue.

we certainly look forward to IKEA entry into the market they will add some competition into the furniture category in a big way.....some local profit piggys are shaking in their boots....and the public will win again .....competition competition competition

You fools, many foreigner retailers, as soon as they get to the point of dealing with Dominican Customs, they get "Turn-Off".

Keep dreaming for a foreigner retailer to come to DR, I had offer them "Consulting Services" and thats always there first line of questioning (Customs). !!!

IKEA! i havent seen that for years, my uncle said they had also made a new one in South Florida, USA.. this a good step un diversifying products and competition, pa ya voy a comprar :D

we just got ikea in orlando.. great place, your right, the customs agents will be totally confused with this one.. also i hope the expand the cafe about 10 fold.
