Santo Domingo.– Nestle Dominicana S.A. announced it will stop all ice cream production at its Manoguayabo factory immediately and will no longer produce or sell ice cream in the country.

According to a press release from the company, Nestle will also stop importing ice cream to the Dominican Republic due to the strong dominance of Bon Ice Cream, a brand that has dominated the Dominican market for 40 years.

This, along with competition from other ice cream companies, makes it extremely difficult to compete and grow in the country, where sales weren't able to grow sufficiently in order to make a substantial profit, the press release stated.

Nestle really could not complete with Helados Bon Etiqueta Negra. Their competing product just could not meet the quality. Nice to see a local business win out over the international juggernaut.

I wish their third rate products would leave the UK too.
Their coffee is the most disgusting I've ever had the misfortune to taste.
