Santo Domingo.- With a cocktail for friends and associates, the cement company CEMEX in Dominican Republic introduced its new Chief director, Carlos Jacks, a  native of Monterrey Mexico, whose vast experience includes 16 years in the concrete and cement industry.

CEMEX new Chief replaces engineer Miguel Angel Treviño who for 13 years was responsible for the multinational’s operations in the country, and who decided to retire after almost three decades in the company.

Jacks, that has actively participated in CEMEX’s acquisition and integration  processes in Spain, Venezuela and Dominican Republic, had a role in the process  to list his company in the New York Stock Exchange, and awarded IR Magazine’s Latin America’s Best Investor Relations Officer, in 2000.

Why is CEMEX in the DR; Mexican Cement Company? Who ever said that Mexico exports cement? There's something funny about this CEMEX organization.
Where I live in Florida they have muscled their way into the redi-mix business. They have bought out RINKER, and now "some" of the driver operators who worked for RINKER are now working for a foreign Mexican company. What's most baffling about this occurence is that at most of the construction projects, residential or industrial, a large quantity of the construction workers are apparently "illegal" Mexicans. So, they bought out the local concrete company, and the workers at the job sites are also Mexican. These NWO agreements (NAFTA) are hurting the US, and it's only a matter of time 'til they affect the DR. Another aspect to remember is that Mexico and its Sinaloa Cartel may be behind these Mexican Compay's aggressive moves. Keep your eye on the CEMEX phenomenon. If Mexican biz is so successful; why are millions fleeing to US?

Arcenio,

CEMEX is one of the largest, if not the largest, concrete companies in the world. The main competition is Lafarge out of France. They both purchase and then operate companies in foriegn countries. According to thier website they operate in more than 50 countries.
