Santo Domingo.- The game Sajama is one of two new electronic lotteries slated to start at yearend, and allows placing bets with immediate results in an interactive system.

The other is Loto Real del Cibao, of Real betting parlors, with a 20-year contract supported by the company Gtech, and which establishes winnings of approximately US$130 million in the contract period.

Both contracts are authorized by president Leonel Fernandez decrees dated October 11, 2005, and March 22, 2007, respectively.

The contract signed between the National Lottery and Loto Real del Cibao also allows that company to implement the games ‘lotto, quiniela, quiniela palé and tripleta, via electronic drawing.

It's not bad enough that there is literally a betting parlor on every corner to take what little the average dominican has left from his small paycheck: Now we have to be subjected to more incursions to the welfare of the pueblo. I would bet that excessive gambling leads to more crime than drugs do.

juanb, what can you expect from a government which does not believe in education and self sufficiency of the common man? give them more outlets for ' hope". more chances to get rich by divine, or satanic, providence. it is beneath contemptible to allow businessmen to line their pockets with the little money the poor have to waste on games of chance. this expansion of gaming is AMORAL. Holy Jesus!!
