Representatives from companies of Canada’s food and beverages industry will be in the country November 3 and 4 to hold meetings with various local pars, as well as local importers.

Did anyone inform them they need to bring their own electricity. Also bring plenty of bribe money. Any money your company makes will have to be promptly disbursed with the local corrupt officials.

The only way this can be a plus for the DR is if these companies come to produce these items for export...we dont need any more imported meats and potatoes.

Yes this is wonderful news that our primary industries may get the leg up they need and a partnership agreement is also great news ,,far better than 100% owned foreign companies reaping the profits from dominican labour . I also predict that very soon there will be greatly increased productivity in the primary industry and that we will be more competitive in the free markets in which we operate

manolin - that's right...international trade is just one big conspiracy. Poor Canada sucks so bad at it though that they have been trading with this country for 500 years and STILL have not been able to take it over...as has always been their dasterdly plan....sneaky Canadians.....remember, we gringos are their neighbours and know them best. NEVER TRUST A CANADIAN....they are sneaky little devils; they play all innocent and so fake nice with all their "please" and "sorry" and "pardon" and "human rights" and stuff. Giving away free money to the poorest countries in the world....sounds sospicious if you ask me!

Vacanos, denile is not a river in Egypt fyi.

You stick your head in the sand and put down anyone who brings up the smell of the stinkig fish here and I am getting tired of it.

You must have one of the non paying jobs while possibly on welfare in the US for heavens sake.

This country is RIPE with the stench of corruption, payoffs, bribes and officials doing illegal things for their own personal gain from the lowly police officer right up to the Judges and even to the top of the executive branch yet you make fun of Josean?

You need to take a good hard look at yourself. It may not be nice but needed.

Those Canadian are sneaky. When the world collapses around them, they're still sitting pretty. They must of build a solid foundation that can with stand global corruption. Slow and stead, not money in one hand out the other. And their Metros work - LOL

dondankar has it right with his statement:
Where is all the money being invested in DR?
Is that why so many new SUV in the country?
Electricity been solved yet?
Is minimun wage at least RD$ 14,000 a month?
Why am I asking this questions?
Is anybody reading?
