It is sad to say but DR lives back in time. I don't know exactly what they call progress.

When I am in DR I feel that I have gone back in time or something. Bunch of tourist going to the country and when they go through our towns they look at us as if they were in some type of safari in South Africa preserved land...preserved by a small group of people who sell our country in autions around the world

WORSE IS that in order to survive we monkey around to these people so that we could survive ourselves.

Leonel Fernadez, be respectful of human rights. DR peole are not animals you could sell to foreign countries.

50% of that money you have to pay back, how exactly are you paying that back, and how much money is DR in debt at the end of this fiscal year.

I understand, you are not liable for that money, the people in DR are.

I wonder what exactly we need to do if we faile to pay back?

Hell, if only we could make the doctors work and do their job, if only we could get the nurses to do what they are suppose to.

There is not commitment to do anything from anyone in DR. everyone thinks about how am I going to do my money. Hustler with degrees,

Do we need Pediatric ER, yes, we do. Do we need doctors and nurses to work full 8 hours every day of the week on three rotations daily, yes, we do. Is it going to happen...

hellborn25,

“you people are people are so negative , everything is a stab at the govenment .”

This a corrupt government that can't even meet the basic daily social necessities of the Dominican masses, is for sale to the highest bidder, only knows how to raise taxes so they can live the high life on the backs of poor and ever decreasing middle class.

So what is there to be positive about the elected and appointed criminals who rape minors and hire forty of their relatives in do nothing jobs?

Please tell me because it seems to escape me!

PS

"nd they do have to pay the money back "

Dear hellborn25 ,,,you are quite correct that this appears a wonderful gesture from Taiwan but as normal we do not know the details of the repayment or the interest rates . I am quite used to all the negative comments from writers here who prefer to have the DR the way it is now and to not do anything until the government has saved enough money to maybe build one new bridge or pave a few roads.I prefer to see a good sound borrowing programme that will accelerate all the social and economic improvements needed here and to pay off the loans over a period of time .
Of course everyone is worried that some of this money will disappear into wrong hands and I hope there are good audits conducted on all the loans and also on all officials who are involved
