Santo Domingo.- Customs director Rafael Camilo on Tuesday discarded opposition PRD party president Miguel Vargas Maldonado’s criticism on the handling of the economy, and on the contrary, the international organisms have hailed the Government’s performance in maintaining macroeconomic stability.

Camilo rejected Vargas’s statement that the government has lost control over the Dominican economy, and that he feels surprised and in his view the political ignores the fact that even organisms such as the IMF and the World Bank recognize the Dominican economy’s stability. “We’ve maintained a strong stability and for that reason I’m surprised that the president of the Dominican Revolutionary Party says the government lost control of the economy.”

The Customs director and ex Banks Superintendent cited as an example the strengthening of the banking sector, which surmounted the serious problems which surfaced in the beginning of 2000; a stable exchange rate has been maintained and the people’s spending power remains stable due to price stability in consumer articles, despite the global financial crisis.

LIE-onel Fernandez inability to mange the economy in an effect way to ameliorate the effect of the world financial crisis by spending and borrowing like drunken soldier, frivolously investing $750,000,000 million dollars on a METRO, which hardly anybody wants to use, has apparently come home roost.

Now the poor are poorer and the lower middle class is disappearing!

The dictionary defines STABLE this way: enduring or permanent.

LF has kept it stable all right. The poor continue to suffer. Our primary education is among the lowest ranked in the world. Corruption continues unchecked. The infrastructure continues to crumble. The justice system doesn't work. The wealthy can do whatever they please. Our policemen are painfully underpaid. The only thing most people care about is Baseball.

Nice to be stable.

Well whatever you want to say against Fernadez, he is still 2000% better than Hippo, and the PRD is the biggest bunch of crooks ever. MVP included, the only reason they want the presidency back is they think there may be some money they missed under Hippo.
