Santo Domingo.- Opposition PRD party president Miguel Vargas on Wednesday  received from Economy minister Temístocles Montas, the National Development Proposal 2010-2030, which contains a series of initiatives and measures to be applied in the short and medium terms.

Vargas said the proposal is part of what should be a Project of Nation, a short, medium and long term development plan, which has also been the concern of many sectors “and which we also as a party raised the need to the country to arrange a project of nation since the last electoral process.”

He said it requires political will and to achieve the objective that first initiative must have the support of the government, must be inclusive and with the participation of the political, economic and social sectors , “for it to be a true development plan and a strategy according to the needs and to what the Dominican people require.”

Vargas said the initiative can benefit the country but regretted that it hasn’t materialize before and that the next Budget can’t be used to initiate its implementation, “but we know that it’s never too late and the initiative in itself is already a step forward.”
