Santo Domingo.- Traffic in Santo Domingo’s major avenues gridlocked near noon Tuesday, as the holiday season’s activities brought out an unusual number of motorists, who Christmas bonus in hand, set out to shoping malls to buy the presents and traditional dinner items.
In the central intersections along 27 de Febrero avenue with Maximo Gomez, Lincoln and Churchill, motorists withstood backups as long as one hour, despite the deployment of hundreds of traffic cops announced by the Metropolitan Transit Authority.
