Berlin.- In a gathering with the Dominican Community in Germany, the Executive vice president of the Council for Dominicans Abroad (CONDEX) announced the formation of Regional Committees in Hamburg, Cologne and Frankfurt, within the plans to bolster and expand the Consultative Council of Dominicans in Germany.

Alejandro Santos headed the gathering in which John Castro, president of the Germany Consultative Council, delivered the keynote speech. He said the Dominican community in Germany has a keen interest in being part of the process aimed at strengthening the bonds with the Dominican Republic.

Castro said Dominicans are very eager to work in benefit of their country and to contribute to improve the quality of life of Dominicans.

Would love to learn German one day...kinda scary people, but some good philosophers...I wonder if there is a Dominican enclave in Berlin or or one of their big cities.

All the germans I've met have been very nice people, even two german siblings I studied with in NY which loved to draw wastikas all the time. Besides japanese, german is the other language I want to learn.

very nice people...drawing swastikas all the time. what's wrong with that picture? i guess that for those who understand the undertones of the swastika, "nice" might not be an appropriate characterisation.

That's why I said "even". It was in 7th grade, not sure if they truly knew what they were doing, but they actually were nice people. Never noticed any other weird behavior besides that. I'm sure they weren't neo-nazis. If they were they wouldn't talk to me or go to a mostly jewish school in a jewish neighborhood.

The younger Germans are better to deal with than the older ones. World war two had a lot to do with it but in my 3 years living in Germany for the most part they were nice. The women seem to have a fascination with men of color the darker the more they like it too.

Germany is a beautiful country the germans are polite.perhaps they have change over the years now that the European Union is so vast and they are part of many. even that the Benelux,France and England were not so fond of them because what they did to them during world war II.I was married to a German in 1980 and when I went to live there I was told I needed to learn they language because that was their country and I needed to adjust to their culture.Fine I did learn to speak, write and read german within six months but when I went back to my native Sosua I told the ones I met there. This is my country this is my culture now you learn spanish.Sweet!!!
