Santo Domingo. - The president of the Business Environmental Protection Support Network (Renaepa), took the oath of its new members, who pledged to work to bolster their commitment with society and the environment.

Julio V. Brache said the group of companies seek to defend the natural resources, and has a series of projects many already underway to recover several river basins, training, waste management, recycling and cleaner production. He said more companies have recently joined the Network, interested in the defense of the environment.

Recently the organization swore in Punta Cana Group president Frank Rainieri to head Renaepa’s East region branch.

Brache said the businesses will help increase communication, reflection and to obtain a synergy. “Our objective is that the companies jointly obtain and adopt the policies in benefit of the environment.”

When I see action, I will believe that they are going to help. In this tight economy I don't think that many companies will donate $$$.

have any of you guys heard the news that a new cement plant was given the permit by the Jaime David Fernandez Mirabal to be install in the Parque Nacional Los Haitices which was also given 20k acres of land. I myself think the that plant should not be allow to be install in that protected area because if happens other companies will follow to install themselves protected it areas.

Bernies is right! The Haitises are under attack by the private sector and also by the poor people who lived nearby and take down the flora and fauna.

We need to rescue, protect, and nupture the "Ridgway Falcon" in the Haitises who is facing extinction due to the poor's people atittude towards the hawk as a bovine eater (which is obviously false)!

The destruction of the fatherland by the poor and by private entrepreneurs SHOULD BE STOP! NOW! We may have to resort to $#@&Y$%^@ to kick these latrine holes out of the Haitises!
