I was married for 25 years to a blond, blue eyed beauty. I fought with her like an idiot all that time over her alcohol and pill problem. I did neither. I was talking about women from other countries. If you are working in USA but want to marry a real Dominicana, you are not going to be in USA without a chica. If you are messing around with girls from other countries you must hit it and quit it and not get her pregnant. Then go back to DR for your Dominicana. The real problem is most go getters like all large % of Men including myself have those feelings toward beautiful Woman, that's what makes the World go round. The only difference is when I was single in my days back in the mid 70's we had a thing called, CLASS, nowadays Woman are liberated and it's sociably excepted. You nor I invented Sex. All can agree the Men in of the DR from Childhood are indoctrinated into believing Woman are sex objects it's what we call Mashismo in our Culture. DR Woman except this because some how the DR Male dominate society indoctrinated Woman into excepting this as normal behavior. Is it no wonder why so many Men cheat on their Wives and visa verse and have Children on the side. In the DR it has become a past time. I have travelled the world and have found beautiful women everywhere. Its very jaded and ethnocentric to think that one set of women are more beautiful than others. It really depends on what features you find desirable, what you like culturally (food, expressions, etc..) and how the woman makes you feel and the synergy that happens in bed. It is true that in a developing country with poverty, men will have more choices and get attention. It feels like you are really important when you are in the DR since so many are giving you attention but in the majority of cases its the green card, green cash and green naivety that conspire together to create the feeling. The meet he green vacation is over, they go one looking for another hustle. There are a few that will be loyal and stick it out, its a matter of deliberate assessment, good choice and luck. Tenares, that is one awesome piece of analysis. i love my Dominican woman as much as anyone, but where do people get off by saying that they are the most beautiful in the world? by WHOSE standards? by WHAT standards? people who say stuff like that display a severe lack of exposure, and reflect the idea that they have not seen very much, nor get out very often. what is beauty, anyway? long hair and straight noses? a bulbous backside?thin lips? what?and, as far as dispositions go; many people prefer the eastern model of woman, that is more subservient and faithful to her partner, as opposed to assertive types that do exactly as you describe; find another partner as soon as you get in the car to go on a long ride.

Today's stereotypes about dominican women are unfounded and ignorant, many think of them as easy, slutty, good looking and gold diggers, but the reality can't be further from the truth.

All these great women were educated and came from money and nobility, they could afford to be happy and generous. I am related to the Mirabal sisters and know first hand their background. However, when you are bored, uneducated, limited in opportunity, thoughts and expressions, you are looking to ride someones else's glimmer of hope, apparent success and money. I have been educated on the realities of the DR and other poverty stricken countries. You do find the variety and types of women spoken above, but you can find equally beautiful, destitute and desperate women trying to get ahead in Brazil, Columbia, Venezuela, etc... They are all gorgeous but many are in need. Have you checked out the advertisements on Dominicansenorita.com? Well on the section of desirable age, many list it does not matter or a 20 year old states that she is willing to meet a man up to 65 years old. Wow, here in the USA, you'd be the subject of mockery....

One more thing, I had a friend, who was a henchman for Trujillo, his brother established the air force for Trujillo and was Ramfi's personal teacher. I met him in old age and he used to tell me that all his women were ugly by any standard (not sure what this meant). The interesting thing is that he would always say it with a smile and a bit hushed up. Finally, I asked him, why. he said they were the best lovers because they over compensated. Funny thing! Every time I saw him I would say "real ugly, huh" and he would "oh yea, real ugly" and give me that big satisfied look like it was a golden secret.

There still some out there in DR, you just have to find her. You can find a million girls like the ones on your webpage at all of the car washes in DR

Personally, I think the Columbian women are drop dead gorgeous. I would love to go there, but being a gringo, and knowing a little Spanish, I think my life span would be considerably shortened.

I understand. There are some very nice educated women out there and in the DR. I have a drop dead gorgeous cousin from Constanza who is educated, speaks English, has money and works for public health in the Capital, and can't find a decent guy. I can't even recommend anyone for her, that's the sad part.

The other issue is that if you make good choices, you can find the woman of your dreams. There are plenty of good women all over the world. Its all about what you want which is manifest in your sense of the ideal and desirable...

To Tenaresdr: You said something about a 20 year old woman in DR who does not mind a 65 year old foreigner. The reason for it is because of need. Money, green card or both. There is no love there. If the 65 year old thinks she is in love with him he is a fool. He should never bring the young lady back to the United States. She will divorce him as soon as she gets everything in order and cheat on him. The best option for the 65 year old man is to retire in DR and enjoy the young lady. Of course he has to pay to keep her around. Although she will cheat on him while in DR; at least she will stay as long as the money flows. In the U.S., women can get good jobs and support themselves. They will not go for a 65 year old because that is not what they want. Once the Dominican woman enters the U.S, she will revert back to her real self and look for a younger papi. It does not matter which country she is from.

If you are an old man marrying a young woman and bring her to the U.S., your chances of divorce is almost 100%. I knew a 25 year old good looking American who married a beautiful 21 year old Brazilian. He did not have any money. He thought she loved him since they were both young. Well after she got her green card she left him and come to find out she had a Brazilian boyfriend back in Brazil she wanted to sponsor. So, even if you are young it is still a risk to sponsor someone. That is why I always recommend to find a way to live in DR with the girl or whatever the country she is from.

Docpeters, i once made the same statement and a fellow poster went ballistic on me. however, it is as true as it can get. one in a million might stick around, but, do not be surprised if some young turk is waiting for her at the arrivals section of the airport when she makes her first entry to the states.

if you are trying to get married in DR you and your family need to know the girl and her family. Also, have people in place to let you know if anything shady is going on why you are gone. Don't bring her into the US until you are sure that it is love.

You said that you are going to DR to live. If you do not mind, can I ask you if you are retired? Because if you are a young person and not wealthy, jobs in DR do not pay much. Even if it is a professional position. Unless, you are transfering from a foreign company or starting a business. The standard of living that you are accustomed to in the U.S. or Canada will be much different in the DR. You can live comfortably in the DR for about $2,000 USD per month (70,000 pesos). That will get you a comfortable apartment in a secured area with amenities such as internet, cable, phone, washer/dryer, pool, gated community with guard. You will also need a car. That will reduce your transportation cost. I always recommend to buy the car in DR. A good reliable say Toyota Corolla in DR will cost about $6,000 USD. Same goes for furniture and electronics. You should get them in DR. You can furnish an entire apartment for less than $5,000 USD.
