Port-au-Prince.- The advances in trade and industry in the island’s border zone and its repercussion in the bilateral commercial relations were the central topic of the “Encounter of Dominican and Haitian Industrialists: Towards the new regional dynamics”, held in Haiti’s capital.
The gathering, supported by the Dominican-Haitian Chamber of Commerce and headed by executives of the Compagnie Development Industrie (CODEVI), served to acknowledge that Dominican company’s contribution to the neighboring country’s social and labor stability.
Mercedes Capellan de Lama, representing CODEVI, said the company, founded by the Santiago-based Group M, currently employs 3,300 people directly, making it Haiti’s highest private payroll, contributing with the border region’s social stability. “CODEVI is operating under an ambiance that provides all the services to make it a world class company, from the awareness of the social and economic impact it represents for the beneficiaries.”

Thank you .
bailarin and fred will be in soon... get ready
It’s a very smart and peaceful move from both sides (Haiti and Dominican Republic). Did I say that both elite groups know how to team up to protect and defend their interests? Great...!!! They also need to address the immigration issues.
Haitian and Dominican businesses from both sides of the island are aware that “you don’t have to blow out the other fellow’s light to let your own shine” [Bernard Baruch]. In fact, DR businesses succeed only if Haiti also succeeds. It’s win-win…
" Dominicans and Haitians are talking " It sounds like a romantic song let 's keep hearing it
