There was a Sunami that hit the Capital long ago. I do not remember the year. I do remember reading about it. It had to be in the late 20's or 30's as there we almost no cars here. One of the U.S. war ships was anchored at the mouth of Oxuma river. The massive wave broke her in half. The captain was to stand court martial. I wish I could remember the name of the ship. I want to say USS Massachusetts but, I may be wrong. The war dept. would not let the captain keep her boilers lite at full steam for lack of money in the war effort. So she had no way of power. The captain refused to be a sitting duck so he kept the boilers on low. But not enough time to bring them up and, get out of the way. Wish I could remember more.

According to experts there is a mjor tsunami long overdue in the Caribbean, it's believed it is going to hit the northern coast lining Puerto Rico, all of DR and some of Haiti. Unfortunately, very few governments have paid attention to this impending tragedy.
