SANTO DOMINGO.- State-owned Power Companies (CDEEE) CEO Celso Marranzini on Wednesday announced the electricity services has been restored in Jacmel and other Haiti cities devastated by the January 12 quake.

The official, interviewed by news source diariolibre.com, affirmed that 30 percent of the electrical energy will be available this week.

He added that since yesterday the CDEEE works to bring Haiti’s power plants and emergency units back on line, among them one which puts out as much as 250 megawatts.

Marranzini criticized those who have questioned the assistance to Haiti in energy given Dominican Republic’s serious weaknesses in that sector, adding that all the help was made possible with private funds.

Unfortunately the author of this article is not telling the truth. Haiti does not have 250 megawatt capacity for the whole country. How in the city of Jacmel were they able to restore among of the plants one with such capacity? The author is delibarately misinforming the readers. Such deceit in journalism is wrong and you out to ask for forgiveness . But the poeple should know that Dominican technicians are in Haiti on sites helping EDH grid to resume electricity
