SANTO DOMINGO.- Dominican Republic’s current debt for Venezuela’s oil is more than US$1.0 billion, that country’s ambassador in Santo Domingo Alfredo Murga revealed Wednesday.

He stressed however that the framework for the Petrocaribe agreement stipulates that the group of oil bills will be paid under conditions he described as very special, with solidarity and cooperation between both nations.

In that regard the diplomat said from now all fuel supply debts will be related since Venezuela has a 49 percent stake in the country’s refinery, Refidomsa.

Murga added that Caracas, through its State owned PDVSA, acquired the Refidomsa shares in a deal the diplomat expects means good business which in addition to easing the Dominicans’ weakness in energy, would also give Venezuela the opportunity to place its crude in the Eastern Caribbean market.

Damn, you people are sleazy and stupid.

“No new taxes for now; debt no threat to stability, Securities chief says”

He needs to be fired.

I do not care how low of interest they are paying on this kind of huge debt. You are screwed. You will NEVER catch up, NEVER.

From now on the ‘OIL’ debt will go up exponentially.

And what happened to quasi bank deficient from the Banniter Bank fraud?

Just sleazy.

It's all a big game in the DR. Who can scam who for as much as possible before the scam is up. We will keep incurring debt and proclaiming how good our economy is doing. If the drug market somehow stops bringing in big money there will be a huge problem. Once the true nature of the country's debt and inability to pay become known as well as how they have been playing games the European and US economic crisis might be small by comparison. I do hope I am wrong on this but the dots seem to be lining up over the course of time.

VeronicaDR, you are correct.

I can only think that these people are IDIOTS.

Once the money trains slows or stops these same pigs will bail and head out of the country. Because the 80% of the populace that they have been scamming will come looking for money to just eat.

It will be sad.

Just saw a fascinating statistic on US tv. In New York City, population 9,000,000+ the police department fired 296 bullets so far this year. That means total shots fired, not the number killed. That is a smaller number than the number of people killed by our police in "exchanges of gunfire".
