Josean and Hitler.,.Hitler is an important ideological weapon helping josean win just about any argument with right-wingers. As such he must be viewed as pure evil at all times. This, of course, creates a philosophical paradox: it is common knowledge that morality is relative and there is no such thing as absolute good and evil. The answer is that Hitler is a necessary exception. If he didn't exist he'd have to be invented. What makes him so evil? It doesn't matter. He's evil, period. You needn't know unless you are an advanced student of the progressive theory. If you are, then you must know that Hitler was also building socialism

The non PC correct headline really should be "IKEA chooses DR over the rest of Latin America, including Costa Rica, Brasil, Chile, and specially Argentina", for their first store south of the Rio Grande. LOL.

Hmmmm.... u do have apoint Generoso, why did Ikea chose DR than people that are more likely and be familiar with its interior decorations like Argentina, Chile and Brasil? If anything, the South American countries should've be one of the first to get an Ikea. Hopefully they're not seeing DR as a pais de pendejos!

Sinister inflicting their rubbish on DR first. If they increase unemployment by importing everthing that was produced in DR before and there is unrest they have the ideal premises and transport for organising a coup'd'etat.
Like the one in Mauritania.
Ikea workers that displace those in the DR get one and half dollars a day

Among Ikea suppliers there is nothing unusual about Shiva's poverty. Manjula, who had just married, also works for an Ikea supplier. She said she earns 2,360 rupees ($49.60), but her payslip for October showed that figure corresponded to her gross earnings, from which national insurance payments were deducted. For 24 days' work in October she took home 1,818 rupees ($38.10). Even working six days a week she comes close to the absolute poverty line, without contravening the Ikea code of conduct. To earn a little more she had to work overtime. "They work 12 hours a day, not including travel time," said Vijayabaskar. "At maximum output they may work as much as 15 hours a day."

Maybe the Argentineans were not dumb enough to let a particle board store set up shop in their country and destroy their local furniture manufactures.

It looks like IKE's potential customer base wouldn't be able to afford their particle board if this keeps up:

Desertion high at primary level

A shocking number of children drop out of public primary school, according to the National Education Forum. For every 100 students who begin primary school only 48 finish the eighth grade and barely 25 go on to enroll in high school.
The president of the National Education Forum (FENA) Andres Matos Sena described the situation as serious, and warned that if it continues in this way the country will fail to attain integrated levels of human and economic development. Matos Sena used the occasion of the Day of the Student to call on the government and the private sector to seek practical ways to reduce student dropouts.
Matos Sena said that the 50% dropout rate amongst university students is just a reflection of the same phenomenon that occurs at the elementary level.

Ikea store as a metaphor for life
"You've never been to Ikea before?!"
Set foot in the cavernous home furnishings superstore.
I guess never having shopped at an Ikea is like never having eaten at a McDonald's. Unthinkable - if only for the missed cultural value.
Just as McDonald's is an icon of business and a symbol of Americana, Ikea holds a certain cultural significance that is as universal as the Big Mac.
This is true even though Ikea was founded in Sweden and now owned by a company in The Netherlands.

Ikea's status as a kitschy player in our collective consciousness, like the Winnebago or pink lawn flamingos.
The store draws huge crowds of shoppers because of its low prices and the fact that it seems to have everything you need for a home, from bedroom sets to silverware and josean should stop whining and complaining with his pitchfork

Ikea in DR pays 0.75 cents and hour for 12 hours= 9.00 dollars a day plus fringes. That is the huge sum of RD$10,000 pesos (US$275.00) a month working 9AM to 9PM.

Banistan having failed to convince the Dominican masses of the integrity of Barrick Gold is now on a crusade to WHITE WASH IKEA and its racist NAZI owner.

Well maybe WHITE WASH is a redundant term in this case but you get what I mean.

If you receive these reports for real and they are not figments of your imagination then it shows you talk to people who live for the trash heap of life life and rejoice in destroy the planet like Hummer owners. Once the doors start warping, the wood rots, the mirrors corrode.....
Still we do have to live to the idiot Blut in his land of broken down TV's ......
