Santo Domingo.- The Customs Agency said its revenues fell 20 percent in January, and blamed it on the global economic crisis.
However Customs assistant director Leticia Peña said there’s optimism that collections may increase stating February, adding that the decline stems from the global situation, noting that this usually occurs at the start of every year.
The official spoke during the laying of a wreath in the National Altar, as part of the government-supported nationwide activities to mark Patriotism Month.

No hoorah for the not so jolly Green Giant!
Lets have fresh spinach and other delights.
It will make the Dominican people good and strong!
Blut and his ilk are trying to stop good Dominicans from getting their local spinach by promoting fancy supermarkets and imports.
But like the good pirates of old there will always be heroes we hope.
