Santo Domingo.- A commission from the United States Embassy, headed by interim ambassador and business attaché Christopher Lambert, visited Labor minister Max Puig, in the Labor Ministry offices.

United States general consul Michael R. Schimmel, and first secretary for Political Affairs Timothy Fitzgibbons were also part of the commission.

Puig and the commission discussed the chapter on labor issues within the Central America, Dominican Republic and United States Free Trade Agreement (Dr-Cafta).

The interim ambassador stated the United States willingness to collaborate with Dominican Republic especially in diverse areas of mutual benefit for both nations, such as the topics of interest for the U.S. Department of Labor.
