Propane is already sky high... They did not raise it because they know the cab drivers will protest... The cab drivers are at the tipping point

The political and economic situation in Venezuela is on a slippery slope and should the situation continue its downward spiral and Venezulea goes bottoms up the DR will be sucked into a mess of having no alternate supplier of fuels. The DR should seriously think of negotiating fuel sales from other sources such as Mexico and US as alternate suppliers in order to stabilize prices. Venezuela is on borrowed time.

Ditto Zooma! (negotiating fuel sales from other sources).
Anyone know the DR TAX per gallon of gasoline-o? At over $4.00 US per gallon, it’s getting expen$ive.
Actually driving and owning a car in the DR IS expensive, after you calculate the cost of insurance and car maintenance et al. The cost of keeping my car in good shape is high. Every time I hit a pothole I can be looking at tires and rims, front end alignment etc. We have changed our traveling habits in the last month. We now make short trips in the car. For the long trips we don’t drive anymore. We either share the fuel cost with someone else and let THEM drive, or use the “public transportation” system (which is still reasonable) and take our chances! I can go on about this but I’ll save it for another time!

dont know the numbers but what i hear on the news and street is that most of those publico cars run on propane otherwise they wont clear much profit (if any) if they ran on gasoline.

what gets me is that the choffers always raise there tariffs stating a rise in gasoline when they use propane
