Santo Domingo.- A U.S organization which groups that nation’s leading bean processors filed a complaint in Washington, accusing Dominican Republic of continually violating the CAFTA-DR trade pact on the allocations of quotas and import permits.
The U.S. Dry Bean Council (USDBC) sent a missive to U.S. Department of Agriculture and raised four "major concerns" regarding the treaty's implementation by the Dominican Government.
In that regard, Randy Duckworth, international USDBC representative said Dominican Republic is becoming a good market for U.S. dry beans under provisions of the Free Trade Agreement.
“The Dominican Republic will eventually become completely open to U.S. bean exports under the agreement. Once that happens, U.S. exports could double within 10 years,” the Web said, quoting Duckworth last month.

some time ago, the all knowing Blutarsky opined that the lack of cohesiveness in thinking about getting the DR into Caricom was caused by the backwardness of the british islands. i tried to explain that it had its genesis in the repeated attempts by the DR to skirt the rules and put the other islands at a disadvantage,which rankled their leaders. so, here we have it again, but on a different level. so, Blutarsky, i await your response this time, since the complains are coming from the Great One, the USA, and not some british caribbean island.
