How about trying to stop the Haitian invasion, and if it's not possible just make it part of D.R. they all live there anyways.

Please be silent because your statement just shows how ignorant you are. Your alternative is just for haiti to be part of D.R if we cant stop the invasion? Do us a favor an get a life!!!!

Sad things is that Haiti is a failed state with no government, no instiutions, no infrastructure, and a lot of people who live in EXTREME misery. The haitian government is non-existant and does nothing to cooperate with the Dominican Republic.

The Haitian side of the border should be SEALED as well!! Both sides of the borders should border control. Haiti's policy towards the extreme poverty and misery haitians have lived through for years is neglient. They rather Haitians cross the border to DR rather than solve the problem.

We Dominicans need to defend our side of the island, isn't not immigrations of Dominicans to PR or the USA or EU we share the same island and are distinctively different people with customs, language, religion, and ideals that are VERY different from Haitians.

The mass influx of uncontroled migrant from HAITI needs to stop and because we deport Haitians and should since they don't have any LEGAL documents needs to START again.

Is no way in hell you could make Haiti part of te Dominican republic.. Are you nuts!! Build a wall with electrified fences because these people are self destructive, they will bring the DR side down. They are so different from us, that is countless the difference between the two groups!!

Jarabacoa,

Haitians are different from us culturally. Just because they eat rice and beans doesn't make them DOMINICAN. We obviously have some similarities but we are two different.

Apparently you seem to be one in FAVOR of a Dominican and HAITIAN merger. DR has nothing to gain and ony HAITIANS would want such union.

I saw build HAITI fo HAITIANS and have HAITIANS return to HAITI.

What is this with "Stop the Haitian Invasion". Some of you are very small minded and prejudice. You forget there are many Dominicans/Haitian Interracial Marriages( i guess you don't like that too) and most of the hard workers in D.R. ARE THE HAITIAN PEOPLE, because some you Dominicans think you are to good to get your hands dirty or just plain old lazy. Remember, Haitian people are gods people too.

We need to make the border live up to its name... BORDER... YOUR SIDE / MY SIDE... simple! When haiti and Haitians decide to be a nation of law then we can talk like nation states do!

Bayman,

Dominicans don't work those jobs because the pay has been lowered significantly by Haitians who have displaced the DOMINICAN worker

If 1 Million illegal Dominicans were in Haiti would you be singing the same tune?

ny4life, I'm sorry but what said does not make any sense....

I am an american that lived and work in Santo Domingo for (2004-2009) 5 year's. And what I observed is, there are many Dominicans(not all), that would not work if you paid them $60 American dollars per hour and remember the low pay scale is set by your "Dominican Brother 's"not the Haitian People. Go think.

jarabacoa, Im 100% Dominican born overther i just live in the USA for a good portion of my life and I do agree with wat U said b/4, I dont mind the Unification of da two island and making 20,000,000 DOminicans and making our culture stronger and bigger, but i only wud like to do dat wen Haiti becomes better off economically stable dat can bring sumthing to da table.. the Dominican Republic is a country da little by little is advancing to a prosperous economy if we Unified the island right noe the progress is goin go to waste..

Succubus, First, Im more Dominican then anybody on this website all my family was born and race overther the only different i think with my head and not with my skin color.. I use to think like you im not going to denied it just b/c if you unified the island right noe is goin bring chaos and most likely a civil war. Honestly, I dont want to Unified the island, but if we become a prosperous country and trust me we are little by little, the haitins are going keep immigrating... BUT CAN I ASK A QUSTION TO MY COMPATRIOTAS ON THIS WEBSITE, IF WE DONT COME TO A SOLUTION TO THIS IMMIGRATION WHO WILL? Im doing my part im Doing my Masters in Protection Management and i plan to work for Immigration in the Dominican Republic to see if I CAN TAKE ALL THE ILLEGALS OUT OF MY COUNTRY. AS ANY DOMINICAN IM JUST TRYING TO FIND A SOLUTION FOR THIS ISSUE.

Succubus, FORGETTING ABOUT all the Haitins is not going to resolve the problem and leaving the problem unresolved is just going to make it worst for the Dominican Republic. In addition, the United Nations forgot about the the problem in Haiti, here in the STATES THEY ALREADY FORGOT ABOUT THE HAITIN COMUNITY, THEY DONT EVEN MENTION THEM ON THE MEDIA. SO TELL ME WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? THAT MEANS US DOMINICANS GOING HAVE TO DEAL W THE PROBLEMS THAT SURROUNDS THE ISLAND B/C WE ARE DA ONES IN CHARGE OF THE ISLAND AT THIS MOMENT LIKE IT OR NOT WE ARE!!.. AS OF HAITINS I DONT SEE THE FIRE IN THEM TO FIX THERE OWN COUNTRY!.. CAN I ASK U A QUESTION AND ALL MY DOMINICANS: IF HAITINS LEARN TO SPEAK SPANISH, LEARN OUR WAY OF LIFE, RESPECT OUR RULES AND CONSTITUTION, RESPECT OUR RELIGION AND BECOME CATHOLICS, WOULD YOU GUYS GIVE THEM A CHANCE TO BE DOMINICANS?!!!!! JUST WONDERING!!!!!

the backbone to this entire conversation is about race just b/c u dont mention the word doesnt mean dats not wat u mean.. ur the one assuming dat if a dominican mentions unification his haitin and i bet im more dominican then u wud ever b... nacido en santiago el lejido republica dominicana!!!!.. im going to admitt mayb i used the wrong word instead of unification mayb an alliance dats a better word... at the end of da day we going have to deal w haiti b/c like i said i live in the states and they dont mention haiti anymore.. if i offended u my bother my apologies i think me and u want the same thing for the island.....
