Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic’s Securities Superintendence (SIV) announced the authorization of a new public issue of corporate bonds for US$20.0 million to the resorts development company Cap Cana, S.A.
The SIV authorized the registry of the Cap Cana Corporative Bonds offer for local and foreign investors.
The risk for the issuer is B- (Dom), and B (Dom) for the issue, according to Fitch Rating Dominicana, which show a capital and interests payment capacity in the stipulated terms and dates, though subject only to a sustained and favorable conditions of the business and the economy.
The SIV said the Cap Cana bond issue will be made up of four US$5 million sections, with a minimum investment of US$1,000.00 each, which will earn a variable rate.
It adds that the bonds are in a sole series with a three year maturity from the date of issue, to be determined in the Simplified Prospectus and Public Offer Notices and by each section.

i thought that Trump had guaranteed the financing a while back. more horseshit. the thing is broke, and, any fool who invests in it is going to get skinned.

I think you are all wrong ..my view is that the management /ownership group of Cap Cana will either survive or will sell out to a more financial group ,,but either way Cap Cana will survive ok .There are now too many properties built there bringing in a monthly fee. There still may be too many people who purchased there looking for a good resale before the economy collapsed but there is still a large number of people who have bought to build.
I do not know how many lots of land are still for sale from the Cap Cana group but I have a feeling part1 and part 2 , the Trump land is all sold out
so although I will not invest in this bond issue I feel sure that Cap Cana will survive ok

If the Trump land is all sold out then there is conflict, there has been no construction startups in the allotted lands. The only structure in the area is the Faith Farallon restaurant at the cliff side. There have been rumors the restaurant may soon be closing which underscores the poor economic environment.

Investing here is like throwing your money into the wind and watch it floating away in a brisk stream of corruption and theft.

Ricardolito is correct. Cap Cana itself will not go away, it's there and a bunch of lots are already sold and paid. The owners of these lots ran into the financial crisis of 2008/2009, and I suspect that they expected to retire and cash their 401K and other pension funds to build in their new lots. As soon as they recover, they will build or sell it to someone who will....
I'm always amused by the bunch of "foristas" that are always leading the "negative" wave in any news related to the Dominican Rep. Who are these people? Bet'ya the only time they have invested in DR is when they purchased Presidente's!!!

jhcl, maybe you would like to tell us how much investment you have done, and what you think are your prospects for a handsome return. since at least 80% of the guys i used to commiserate with 4 years ago are long gone back to their home countries, bowed and beaten, maybe you can offer suggestions for the incoming.

zooma you may recall that Trump had one huge week of promotions and sales and in that week alone he sold almost the lot ..this was before the mortgage debacle in the USA , it is the sale of the building lots in the Trump area that I believe had a large amount of speculators rather than people wanting a second home . I suppose that the Cap Cana management group is responsible for all the services in the Trump , or Part2 area as well as the first stage and I am sure are dragging their feet
I have only been around the marina and fishing village area and the various neighbourhoods all around the various golf holes , most of those areas are progressing well and the golf course , the beach club and son are all spectacular.
jhcl there is a large number of Dominicans who are unable to move with the changing Dominican landscape..they yearn for the idyllic Caribbean peasant lifestyle that presented few problems and few diversions ..they are the ones who hate investment in the new DR.

jhcl, i suspect that the posting you issued was in response to my question, since i did not see anyone else ask anything of you. so, in the event i am right, i will say that you have not answered at least one aspect of the question, the one pertaining to your expactations of a return on this investment. and, do not presume to know me. i make a more positive contribution to people in need than you probably do. you apparently wade in the waters where the rich and famous are found. i commiserate with the less economically fortunate, the ones who have a soul. the ones whose self worth is not measured by their net worth. over to you.

by the way, jhcl, i am talking about investment HERE. yes, i care not about your exploits elsewhere. just here
