SALT LAKE CITY, UT (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX).- Deep Blue Marine, Inc. announced today that the company has entered into a second major contract in the Dominican Republic.
Under the direction of the Government of the Dominican Republic, and working under the supervision of the Marina de Guerra Dominicana and an inspector from the Oficina Nacional de Patrimonio Cultura Subcuatico, Deep Blue Marine, Inc. has signed an agreement to provide services in the area of survey and recovery of artifacts for an undisclosed permitted area on the North Shore of the Dominican Republic. The company-owned dive and recovery vessels will be on site within days to begin work.
Deep Blue Marine, Inc. has been in the recovery business for several years and has recovered airplanes, modern sunken vessels, industrial equipment and historical shipwrecks. The company houses many of its artifacts in a company owned museum located in Samana, Dominican Republic and plans to open similar venues in that country in the near future.
Wilf Blum, President and CEO, stated, "We are very excited about this new contract, as this area of the Dominican Republic is in the heart of the major shipping lanes of the new world. From the time Columbus discovered this country in 1492 until present day, ships have traversed this area. The historical impact of shipping in this area cannot be overestimated. We have charted many significant wreck sites and have determined this is indeed a very important historical area. Over the centuries, ships have washed up on the reefs and shores of this stretch of land as hurricanes, storms and poor navigation took their toll. The company is pleased to be given this incredible opportunity to recover history and preserve history for future generations. Deep Blue wishes to publicly thank and commend Captain Billy Rawson and archaeologist Alejandro Selmi, plus the crews of both the 'Lady Laura' and the 'Cap'n Tracy,' for all the work they have performed in securing this incredible opportunity for our company.
"As a company, we look at this area as perhaps one of the most important areas ever to be explored as there were several significant vessels of record that washed up on the north shore during hurricanes. Adding this part of the country to the recently announced area in Punta Cana, which contract exists under the auspices and existing contract that Fundacion Puntacana has with the Ministry of Culture of the Government of the Dominican Republic, will provide us with the ability to explore the two most historically important shipping lanes of the New World that touch on this island nation. In the Punta Cana area, we are most interested in the 1502 fleet that lost over 20 vessels in one storm."
"The losses in both of these areas were staggering and our work allows us to bring to light the conditions under which the men lived. We hope to recover many of the incredible historical artifacts that lay on the bottom of the ocean. These items have remained lost to history for hundreds of years. Upon recovery they will be turned over to the Oficina Nacional de Patrimonio Cultura Subcuatico for cataloging and restoration. Fundacion Punta Cana's division of items recovered will be housed in a museum that Fundacion Punta Cana is constructing within the Altagracia Province. The items recovered on the North Shore will be housed in the National Museum in Santo Domingo and also in The Shipwreck Museum owned and operated by Deep Blue Marine, Inc., located in Samana, Dominican Republic."

I will continue with my buying scratch and win lottery ticket strategy.......as opposed to investments in treasure diving

So what happened to Marine Exploration and Burt Webber? The PR for that group says they were going to be simultaneously salvaging two wrecks off the north coast...uh-oh....

Let's get started and see what turns up.

under the scratch and win ???

This is another stock hype deal. These people have never found one shipwreck on their own. The real expl;orers, real salvors here have always been Tracy Bowden and Burt Webber. As to the 1502 wrecks, Webber already did a survey looking for those wrecks back in the 80's. Never found because there in deep, deep water. Whoever wrote this release has there history all wrong as to routes and this Selmi is no archaeologist. More B.S. in the T.H. world.

The old Pump and Dump routine ......I am shocked shocked
From: United States
Webber found nuthin...he was given the location of the Concepcion before he found it and then almost killed himself by carbon monoxide poisoning during the recovery. His current boat sits on the docks in Sto. Dgo. near the CZ while his crew/children draw paychecks for pumping and dumping~as the stock gets diluted amidst PR that they're going to simultaneously salvage two shipwrecks...
DT was gonna publish regular updates on Burt, but that ended after the second one...wha' hoppeng? Where's the lotto ticket guy that works Cafeteria de Penalba? This week is my week to win!

DoggPound: You sound like one of those "I wish I was" characters. Too many books written well documenting who Webber is and what he's done. What's your claim to fame?
From: United States
My "claim to fame"...reading all about Burt. He searched and searched until someone gave him documents that gave the Concepcion's general location..he found it and dug it up
If you've ever been honored to be within earshot of Burt holding court (a bar), you'll hear how he almost found the Atocha and the Central America...or how he's been supposedly duped after setting up treasure ships for other treasure hunters...or about the other ships in the Caribbean he's discovered.
Right now, his investors are waiting for the PR that's been put out to come true...you can't salvage two ships simultaneously sitting on the docks in Sto. Dgo. While the competition is adding permits, his investors are losing money......and patience.
Deep Blue, Tracy and Indiana U seem to be able to get out and work...but not BW

DoggPound. Your obviously a person of no real merit, ethics or character. Possibly or probably a diver or scuba instructor who just never had the nerve or ability to make it into the big leagues. Its clear you have an extreme jealousy and vandictivness for Webber. I follow things down there too. Webber's R/V Hispaniola is not in Santo Domingo at the dock. They recently came back from Silver Bank having just discovered another 17th Century wreck. While you're blowing off your mouth "Doggy", you failed to mentioned that Webber recently discovered another Spanish wreck at the Caleta Beach but was under a gag order on any publicity releases. It was Webber's research and his mags. that found it and his men brought up the first treasure. I saw the pictures. It's a I.U. field school because the wreck is in a seashore park. Go scratch fleas "Doggy"

Nope, not a diver or an instructor, nor jealous or VINDICTIVE, just someone who was privy to one of Itchy Webber's "begging for dollars night" at a local haunt. He assured us he was looking for a needle in the proverbial haystack, and some locals invested anyway... they've never gone for the wreck he originally stated to us they were after...instead he's concentrated on paying his family (kids) and himself while the boat's been tied to the dock.
Tropi~you kinda sound like him~talking about character, ethics, merit and "his men"~The Begona beach site is no secret, nor is the Gloria...but I'm sure "he's" apprciative of you braking the gag order. Anyway BW's too busy now to worry about ROI for his investors..."He's" got a newly married grandson in the Navy Med Corps and a newborn...I bet BW's scratchin up a storm right now ;)

Back to the "Doggie": Now that you've proven yourself to be the "Hedda Hopper" of the treasure hunting societies, to those that know, you have marked yourself as being very misinformed, or more accurately, an outright liar. I'm very familiar with the MEI scene and some of the players. Webber is not a fund raiser and that group has not had one in house Dom. Rep. investor. You come off as very frustrated and probably were one of Webbers discards as an incompetent. I've read every book in this field and know as do millions of others who the all stars were and still are. Art McKee, Kip Wagner, Mel Fisher, Bob Marx, Burt Webber, Tracy Bowden, Greg Stemm. Did it ever ocurr to you that all of these people have personal lives and human flaws. Isn't it profoundly sad when a little person like you cries out but no one of importance even hears you. Don't let your bitter war on Webber consume you.
From: United States
In house "Dom Rep" investor? You assume a lot...just like you assume BW has never discussed his opportunity locally...the fact that you defend the situation as you do says a lot. Fortunately he's not anyone I would work for....rool the dice on treasure yes....work for no.
The fact is, DEEP BLUE has two more permits....
From: United States
Doggie.......Obviously you don't know anything about Deep Blue, their track record or who runs their company or how they raise their money. Thats not important to you but character attacks on Webber seems to be your ultimate objective. As you obviously continue your venemous attacks while hiding behind your DoggPound posting name, you remind me of the scorpion hiding under an old rotten piece of plywood. Your lies and my on going defense of, in principal, defending Webber has me weary. I here and now openly challenge you to come out from your cowardly hiding and with proper coordination, we will meet in an open interview with Jorge Penella of Dominican Today. If your in the states, via Dominican Today, I will pay your r/t air fare. I can be in Santo Domingo within the week. Lets see who you really are. I'm also willing to pay for Webber to be in that interview as well. Ok with you DoggiePound?
