Santo Domingo. - President Leonel Fernandez will meet with business leaders on Monday to explain the bill to amend the Law on the Administration, Control and Collection of Fuel Taxes, and the legislation which aims to rationalize the Tax Expenses and Incentives.

The gathering is slated for the National Palace with the presence of the Government’s economic team, said Treasury minister Vicente Bengoa and Economy minister Temístocles Montas.

“We’re going to provide additional explanations because it seems that there’s confusion with those bills,” Bengoa said, adding that none of the proposals include the creation of new taxes, or an increase of existing ones, and instead aim to make the tax system more efficient.

The "business leaders" are only really worry about losing their tax breaks, similar to the ones given by Bush to his rich friends. The result of this meeting will and always only hurt the rest of us. These "business leaders" will get what they want, and will stop complaining about the new "indexacion". So whatever "tax revenue" that was coming from the "business leaders" will now be added to the amount that IS COMING from the rest of us.

Conclusion, the meeting is "pa' jodernos AUN MUCHO MAS" and the "business leaders" might even get more "tax breaks"!!!

They are going to attempt to explain that by increasing the tax revenue on fuels by 5 BILLION pesos, they are actually not increasing the taxes.

You see, says the government, this is actually going to be a good thing. People unable to afford to travel will now spend more time with their families.

In a country where having a good excuse for doing something badly is considered just as good as doing some properly, this is what we have to accept.
