Puts regular gas at about $4.17 USD a gallon. It would almost be considered a national crisis if it reached that in the US

I borrowed someones propane car in the states ... Once....
I made the mistake of not getting filled up early enough in the day. None of the gas stations with propane wanted to send an employee out of the store to help me fill up. I ended up having to find a hotel room for the night and wait until the morning to fill up.

I prefer Gasoline in the US, much easer to buy. Here is the DR, if I decide to get a car (currently have a motor), I'll either look for a propane or diesel.

The per barrel price is going down worldwide. Here it only goes up.
Why? To make up the shortfall caused by government waste and theft.

dwayne,
I am talking about having a bio-fuel car in DR that uses gasoline and propane. If you run out of propane, it switches to gasoline. Its not worth it in the states but in DR it is.

Propane is cleaner burning and much better for the environment. No carbon and if you forget to change your oil after 15,000 miles it still looks as if it were new. Gasoline begin more powerful and placed in a tin can will make for so very nice explosions. LPG is safer and is placed in a very strong container. Draw back 10-15% power loss and engine will run hotter so remove thermostat.

did you say "placed in a tin can"????

I've never seen that here, 1 gal water jug, bleach containers, pretty much any thing else, but never an actual metal can. I've even seen plastic jugs being used as gas tanks for motors here. :)

When the price of gas goes down or stays the same nobody has any comments but if it goes up......stand back.

$4.17 a gallon isn't that bad for a country that doesn't have oil and one old inefficient refinery
