Santo Domingo.- The Presidency’s Chief of Staff revealed yesterday that as part of the plan to modernize and reform the government, to a project to fuse ministries and eliminate deputy ministries is in its final stages.

Cesar Pina Toribio said his Department coordinates a commission that includes the Public Administration Ministry and the Legal Adviser, instructed to elaborate the first draft for the Law to Reform Public Administration.

He said the commission would adapt the project to the Constitution, and has already converted the Secretariats to Ministries.

Pina affirmed that the structure of ministries would automatically eliminate several deputy ministries and agencies within them. “That’s going to lower the number of ministries as well as deputy ministries, even though the same assume functions that corresponded to other agencies.”

He said those ministries aim to eliminate some agencies. “I dare to say, however, that the possibility exists at the high level of fusing some ministries, but I again reiterate that it is not a definitive decision.”

Pina spoke with reporters in the Las Americas International Airport, before traveling to Lisbon to attend the Latin American Conference of Presidential Ministers.

Oh please. Can we keep a watch on them and show that they cannot be responsible enough to do it?

Open an ongoing link where all the 'good' stuff they do goes there and one for all the pathologically corrupt crap goes.

With an empty suited president that cannot lead by example and their inbred entitlement mentality this will last until one of them takes a bribe and the other say "if he can do it, then I can do it."

I give them till noon today.

“I dare to say, however, that the possibility exists".

Where do you think you are Disney World?

"but I again reiterate that it is not a definitive decision.”

That's more like your ability to take NO responsibility and total lack of integrity.

i expected some idiotic remark from you, and you did not disappoint. as one who knows nothing beyond intoxicants and caviar, i expected the significance of these measures to escape your powers of analysis. there is nothing leftist or rightist about what i said. the IMF wants the government to rein in public spending, and this is a good first start. why do i bother with an ass like you?

That will not happen.

Leo is not coming back, and will do his best to make Hippo's life impossible.

Trim down the size of government? The day hell freezes over.

Or, better said, the day we're dead broke. Repent, sinners, it's coming!!

No changes will take place, many of these people are the proud holders of botellas, given jobs as payoffs for political support and favors. Once again these are empty promises of change and corruption curtailing
