Santo Domingo.– With a full calendar of cultural, folk craft and culinary exhibitions, Expo Monte Plata 2011 opened last night aimed at promoting the province (east), now known as a brand.
Visitors to the fair can enjoy a diverse and attractive range of popular cuisine as well as commercial and agricultural products from Monte Plata, Bayaguana, Sabana Grande de Boyá, Peralvillo and Yamasá, in addition to the products from Samaná and María Trinidad Sánchez, the two provinces that have been invited this year.
According to Monte Plata Senator, Charlie Mariotti, this year "we signed several agreements with the agribusiness sector and producers and technicians from the Colombian province of Neiva, with whom we established a system of mutual advantage to improve production systems and training of our producers."
