Santo Domingo.- The Public Works Ministry announced Sunday that tomorrow Tuesday president Leonel Fernandez will inaugurate the Tourist Boulevard of the Atlantic road grid, built at a cost of US$151 million.

The Boulevard, which links Samana peninsula’s most important destinations, is considered one of the country’s most panoramic routes given the exotic vegetation, beaches, Escosesa Bay and the Atlantic coast.

Public Works said the route is the second section of the Nagua-Samaná Road Network, and complements the Santo Domingo-Cruce Rincon de Molinillos-Samaná highway.

The 123 kilometer grid encompasses the peninsula’s road network Nagua-Sánchez-Cruce del Limón-El Limón-Cruce de Abra Grande-Las Terrenas- Balatá and El Catey, as well as a new link between Catey Airport and Las Terrenas, now under construction.

How about the road from Santiago Rodriguez to Monte Cristi via el Cibao. The roads are in such bad shape, one pothole after the other and this road is used by public and private transpotation entities..
