Santo Domingo.- The Jesuit Migrants and Refugees Service said the Immigration Law’s proposed regulation for foreigners is positive, but cautions that it’s not a new bill, and instead a document the National Council on Immigration approved in 2006.
Francisco Henry, an officer of the Jesuit Service, said they’ve been permanently demanding that regulation’s approval to enforce the Immigration law passed in 2004, on concern that the country needs to advance institutionally.
He said the bill on the regulation published yesterday by newspaper Listin has positive aspects, such as making it easier to identify the number of foreigners in the country, a figure he affirms neither the Government knows, nor civil society groups, nor anyone, since the lack of a regulation has made it impossible to conduct the census stipulated by Law..

Neither the church, the jesuits nor anybody are doing anything other than to put more demands on the Dominican people. Shame on all of them. Shame on the hypocrites, fariseos that insist on imposing their will on the people of DR without helping. The Haitians have received millions and millions of $$$$ for years and Haiti is a mess and will continue to be a mess. The Haitians ruined Haiti and are now in the process of doing the same in my country. SEND THEM BACK FAST. Where is the money earmarked for Haiti? Why are the wealthy Haitians all living in DR along the malecon and not in Haiti helping their own people? Shame Shame Shame on all who want to destroy Quisqueya La Bella.

CarmenReyes,
I totally agree.....may I add Haiti has become the NANNY COUNTRY the SOCIAL EXPERIMENT of the world.
Until the DR and world aide comes to a complete halt Haiti will never change, Haiti must be rebuilt by the Haitians themselves or nothing will change.
Nothing like sitting around doing nothing waiting until the next man made or natural disaster to happen then wait for the world aide to come pouring in.

Ask them how many undocumented haitians they are hiding, if you ask me I would question that organization and bring them up on charges of trafficking illegals in to the DR.

Not that Sweet Micky won the bid, he should record a hit song in kwéol every living Haitian should mandatorily listen to in a live performance, the date of which to be announced soon.
Venue: the grounds of the National Palace in PAP.

A concert, live performance, I agree but in lieu of residual earthquake aftershocks in PAP, let us hold it at Sol del Plata Hotel in Puerto Plata. I propose a motion on the floor to elect WalterPolo as the regional Manager of Toilette to manage the 1,000 porta potties. Do I hear a second to the motion?

ateo2010,
Sticks and stones with all the name calling. What does the word ayiti mean? Is this some itch that you are suffering from in your shithole? Get some Preparation H and you will be ok.
The Jesuits are cool and they run some pretty well established universities like Georgetown, Fordham, Loyola, Xavier, Canisius, Boston College, Marquette and 21 other institutions of higher learning. Can you measure up to this resume of leadership?

The Jesuits ruined just about every country they had political influence in. They should be outlawed and ran out of town. Run them all into Haiti, then superlover and them can help rebuild the country together. Seriously if I was part of the government, I would seriously investigate all the millions of foreigners that live in the DR illegally, especially the Europeans and North Americans. Much of the garbage that is taking place is their fault.

Most of you are not providing any intelligent solution to the problem. Where is your humanity? Are Haitians less human than Dominicans? Don't you realize every country, especially D. R., is dependent on the GLOBAL economy? or, Do you think any country can survive isolated from others?
All social studies show that people under extreme poverty can only think on terms of the present moment for their survival. They don't have the luxury to express their ideas on the internet like you do.
Some of you or your relatives were accepted into the U.S. without earning that entitlement. You were accepted in a country founded on religious principles.
The poor can't be held guilty of their poverty but their governments and leaders.

We have intelligent and LOGICAL solutions to the problem ,what you want is an EMOTIONAL solution.
No country should allow itself to be wiped out to assist another so while we can and should assist others (within our means) we cannot and should not hurt our own in the process.
Another note the idiotic comparisons to LEGAL immigration into the US does not apply because LEGAL immigrants are allowed to enter by the host nation while ILLEGAL immigrants enter without such an invitation wether they be Mexicans in the US or Haitians in DR neither has a right to enter just because they have problems anymore than you have a right to enter a neighbors home because you are lacking something in yours!!

It is indeed stupid to compare these things. is the classical example that is always brought!!!
Mr. Razon, i would like really that you ask that HUMANITY question to the CBP or ICE officers when they are DEPORTING ILLEGAL INMIGRANTS, i will really really like to know where is that HUMANITY...
CUT the BS, this is a matter of LEGALITY. If i don't get Humanity in foreing lands WHICH I DON"T, then NO ONE on this country can be raising that issue.

Razon,
Where do I start....oh ! I know.
What's your intelligent solution to the Haitian problem ?
Every Nation in this day and age is dependent on a global economy.
"Social studies"...that's the problem, we study problems, we've become experts on the PROBLEM with no real SOLUTIONS.
Do you know the history of U.S welfare ? If you don't I'll explain later.
Does the term "Invisible chains of slavery" ring a bell ?
Were you or your relatives excepted into the U.S without earning "that entitlement' ?
Were you not also "excepted into a Country founded on religious principles" ?
I'm reminded of one U.S social experiment of the late 50's - 60's where in the inner cities the housing issue was prime, result.......housing projects and section 8, talk about "GIVE" entitlements....I call that a guilt trip.
Give give give, take take take.....with no incentive to work, earn and prosper and.... "I will better myself" mentality.
the current U.S route ?
