Santo Domingo. - The State-owned Power Companies (CDEEE) won in arbitration its lawsuit to demand completion of an agreement, in which two companies must pay damages for failing to bring two 175 megawatt barges to operate in the North region.

The CDEEE said the arbitration court of the National District Commerce and Production Chamber’s Alternative Controversies Resolution Center also rejected a reconvention suit against it, by the companies Coste Enterprise LTD y Polar Energy LTD, contracted to install the barges.

The current administrator Celso Marranzini said the CDEEE decided to rescind the so called Energy Transformation Agreement (ATE), among other aspects, calling it onerous and inconvenient for Dominican taxpayers, and that those companies hired to install the power barges were in “total” breach of contract.
